From beautiful outdoor attractions to incredible eats, it's no wonder so many Garmentory boutiques call Vancouver home. Want to know what's good? We've put together our favorite sights, restaurants, and beyond, below.
Museum of Anthropology at UBC
With thousands of carvings, weavings and contemporary artworks by Indigenous artists and makers, Vancouver's Museum of Anthropology is a beautiful, moving place to learn about the First Nations.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Pictured above
If you're afraid of heights, certainly skip this recommendation. At almost 500 feet long and perched over 200 feet above the river, the Capilano Suspension Bridge allows you to walk among the tree tops just half an hour from Downtown Vancouver. The bridge tends to sway and move as you walk across, which can be nerve-wracking but also kind of magical.
Granville Market
Stroll through stalls upon stalls of colorful produce, tasty snacks, fresh seafood, and artisan wares. Granville Market is a cultural hub that's ideal for a quick lunch or a full-day shopping and snacking extravaganza.
Cafe Medina
Brunch at Cafe Medina is something of an institution in Vancouver (and everyone knows it, so prepare for a wait). The Mediterranean-inspired dishes are fantastic, but the small liège-style waffles steal the show. Get one with the pistachio rosewater topping and thank us later.
Toshis Sushi
Such a great (and affordable) sushi spot! Don't be afraid to be a doorbuster, otherwise you might not get a table. They fill up fast and it's a small place. They don't take reservations or serve large parties, so grab your bestie and go!
Ask for Luigi
Pictured above
Italian comfort food in an adorable corner spot? Si, per favore! They specialize in handmade pasta served family style. Bring a crew to sample every delicious dish, and do not miss Luigi’s meatballs.
¿CóMO? Taperia
It's easy to forget you aren't in a packed Spanish tapas bar at ¿CóMO? Taperia. The space is lively and loud, designed with bright blue accents against warm terracotta. Go for happy hour to enjoy our favorite Spanish tradition, free tapas at the bar with a drink purchase. Call ahead for reservations.
Anh and Chi
The Vietnamese name Anh and Chi translates to "brother and sister," a nod to the siblings who run this community-oriented hot spot. The modern takes on traditional Vietnamese dishes are inspired by dishes from their childhood, including a phở dish in honor of their father.
Kissa Tanto
Japanese-Italian fusion is the culinary combination we've always wanted. Kissa Tanto is a sexy, intimate space in Chinatown with an inventive menu and great cocktails. Reservations sometimes book out months in advance, so plan ahead.
Nelson the Seagull
The smell of freshly baked bread beckons you into this cute little cafe and bakery with some of the tastiest treats in town. Order an avo toast on a thick slice of sourdough or grab a sandwich to go. And the pastries! Bring some back for us, please.
The Birds & the Beets
Pictured above
Another easy spot for coffee, a breakfast sammie, or a sweet or savory toast. There's great coffee, a cozy atmosphere, and even wine when the time is right.
